Pre-Retirement
Seminars
Members of the CUPE Employees’ Pension Plan (CEPP) who are 45 years of age or older and have at least five years of total credited service under the CEPP are eligible to attend a pre-retirement planning seminar.
Each year the administration team reviews members’ data and identifies who is eligible to participate. The eligible members are contacted as soon as they attain the above-noted criteria.
The following topics are covered in the seminar:
- Psychological adaptation to retirement;
- Pension and benefit entitlements;
- Financial planning.
The seminar provides plan members with information on how to plan and better prepare for their retirement.
Counselling
As you near retirement, the CUPE Employees’ Pension Plan (CEPP) offers a one-on-one counselling session with a counsellor to discuss your pension benefits in retirement. It is recommended that the session take place within three years from your anticipated retirement date.
