Administration Team

CUPE serves as the Administrative Agent for the CEPP, with Samtou Tchamdja and her team providing pension administration services to plan members and operational support to the Joint Board of Trustees.

The administration team is responsible for a wide range of services, including:

Member Services

  • Plan enrolment
  • Past service transfers, buy-backs, etc.
  • Pension retirement estimates
  • Calculations related to marriage breakdowns
  • Processing of retirement, termination, and death benefits
  • Registration for pre-retirement planning seminar
  • One-on-one pre-retirement counseling session

Plan Administration

  • Administration of the pension fund
  • Negotiation and administration of Reciprocal Transfer Agreements (RTAs)
  • Oversight of pension-related policies and procedures
  • Coordination of pre-retirement seminars
  • Preparation and filing of annual financial statements
  • Preparation and filing of pension plan amendments
  • Financial reconciliation of all pension plan transactions

Support to the Joint Board of Trustees

  • Coordination and organization of Board and sub-committee meetings
  • Preparation of meeting materials and recording of minutes
  • Administrative support to the Trustees, including travel, expense processing, and education tracking
  • Management of a dedicated Board expense account and related budgeting
  • Implementation of policy-related communications and documentation
  • Support for Retiree and Alternate Retiree elections
  • Maintenance of Board records and information-sharing platforms
